CHICO — Tools will be the program during the next Butte Rose Society meeting, at 7 p.m. Feb. 25, at the Chico Veterans Memorial Hall, 554 Rio Lindo Ave.
In order to get the best use of pruners, loppers and saws, the society will hear from Robert Fanno, owner of Fanno Saw Work in Chico, about the use and care of tools. He can also comment on tools that members bring in. The presentation will cover the selection, including pros and cons of different types of pruners and saws, their care and their cleaning.
Fanno is the third generation of the Fanno family to run Fanno Saw Works, a tool manufacturing company in Chico. His grandfather started the business in 1920 and the logo, developed by Robert’s father, is a registered trademark.
In addition to the speaker, there will be “a little tool show.” Several members are going to bring their favorite tools and share information about them.
Guests are free, but an annual membership is only $25. The society’s website is www.butte-rosesociety.org
