The Butte County Resource Conservation District will give away up to 10,000 native tree seedlings Saturday, March 7 at the CMA Church, formerly Paradise Alliance Church, at 6491 Clark Road in Paradise. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will be held on the church’s basketball courts.
With the help of professional foresters, district staff will help landowners select native and climate-appropriate conifer seedlings for their lands. They will provide planting instructions to make sure the trees are planted in the right places. Free trees are available to anyone in Paradise, Magalia or the rest of the Camp Fire footprint.
This event is sponsored by the American Forest Foundation. Additional support came through the California Department of Conservation’s Forest Health Watershed Coordinator grants and the Sierra Nevada Americorps Program.
